Feedback for Qigong Classes via Zoom

The class is so refreshing and my near and far vision improve after doing the organ
sounds.  I now do this practice before important meetings and other challenging
situations. Thank you for making the most, best use of technology to create an
almost intimate setting, share your beautiful presence and gently introduce me to
this beautiful way of being, connecting and re-placing myself into the flow of the
world.  -Mia Monroe, National Park Service

My husband and I have been taking Hallie’s classes on a weekly basis during Covid-
19 and we are so grateful to be able to. This practice brings much needed
grounding, healing and light to my week.  As a physician, my husband works in end
of life health care and, needless to say, this period has been quite stressful.
Practicing the movements with Hallie, and doing the sound healing exercises have
been grounding, healing, energizing and very positive for both of us. The practice is
deceptively deep and sustaining. Hallie is thorough and thoughtful teacher, and very
accommodating to us newbies!
-Barb and Mike

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.  The energy is still with me.  Indeed, if I’m
understanding, the chi has been all around, all along.  It is everywhere.  -Edward,
Canada, a grateful student.

As a clinical psychologist specializing in trauma, I feel “Zoomed Out” in my daily life.
However, this class feels “beyond Zoom.” The experience of movement and
connection to body and spirit that Hallie offers feels very attractive in these days of
global crisis  -Vivian Gold, Ph.D., Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA.

I have been loving the online qigong class and have made it a permanent part of my
weekly practice, and it is making a huge difference in my spine and lower back. I’ve
had pain in this area for over 2 years, after 1 week of doing the spinal chi exercises
the pain is gone, It’s a miracle. One day, I was in San Francisco helping my son when my phone alarm rang. Time for my favorite zoom class, Qigong with Hallie! Even though it was a busy neighborhood off South Van Ness all I could focus on was the exquisite teaching of Hallie leading us through creating the Chi field. I was in total bliss and in awe that even on the back streets of San Francisco one can reap the benefits of this wonderful practice. Thank you Hallie for your amazing guidance and teachings in this beautiful practice. You are such a gift! -Clare Ullman, Designer

Happy New Year from
The Heart of the Goddess

China, c.125 c.e.

Happy New Sun Cycle!

May 2020 be a year of clear vision for you and our world.  I’ve started a new project that might interest you and your community: writing postcards to voters of color in Texas, letting them know that they may have been dropped from voter rolls and how to re-register. Texas has the most electoral votes after California and its population is changing, but not necessarily voting.  Writing postcards has proven to increase voter registration by 500% in counties in Virginia.

Here is why I am doing this: Like many of us, when I think about what is happening to our precious world, I feel angry, scared, helpless and yet, determined. When I think about all that is at stake, I realize that everything I care about is dependent on the outcome of the 2020 election, on national as well as local levels. This is it: an all-hands-on-deck moment which will determine the fate of the Earth and all her creatures, a time to consider the power in our collective hands at this moment. Some of us took action in the late ’60s to spur positive change that we could not have imagined ourselves doing—and the effects have lasted for decades. I see this as a similar time.

“You are not obligated to complete the work but neither are you free to abandon it.”  Pirkei Avot 2:16

I send metta, or loving kindness, to the person I am writing, even though I don’t know them. It feels good to be working with people across the country, continuing the momentum of the 2018 elections. This is my prayer in action for our world.

Would you like to join us?  If so, please write Mary at mctrounstine@gmail.comand let her know how many names you would like and whether or not you are open to bilingual. She will send you names, addresses and instructions.  You can buy stamped postcards at any post office or order them here:
https://store.usps.com/store/results?Ntt=stamped+postcards&_requestid=61793

Feel free to spread the word about this simple grassroots way to serve all of us. If you would like more information about the groups behind this work, please see https://actionnetwork.org/forms/reclaim-our-vote-signup?source=email&

I will not look back on Nov. 4, 2020, the day after the election (and my birthday), and wonder what more I could have done.

With thanks for your presence on the planet,
Hallie
